If they want you back? It's ok to want them back but it's an option and possibility just like everything else in the world,it's not your priority. If they ever want you back,they will have to mature and understand their faults as well.

Pretty much what faithfully listed. To add on to it:

 

Listen. Listen not just so he can word his reply, but listen in order to understand.

Be open to compromise.

Forgive. My ex has this thing about giving forgiveness. Whenever I apologise, he'd go "I hate having to forgive, it's as if I'm telling that person I'm right and you're wrong."

Make leaving the last option, and not the first go-to each time we run into problems.

Let go of past mistakes. Don't keep bringing them up during arguments.

He would have to learn to trust me.

 

He would have to have at least one close guy friend.

 

He would need to learn self soothing strategies.

 

He would need to be in therapy for his highly probable attachment issues.

 

And he would need to have an action plan on place so that he would tell me and we could do things to help him when he got scared.

 

But this is pointless in a way, because as much as it pains me to say it, I know in my gut that he's never coming back.
