Brief background: I was dating a guy for 2 months and he was showing me all the signs of being interested. He has suddenly disappeared - last conversation started with me texting him and him replying 'hey, I was just about to text you!(....)' so I thought everything was going fine.

It's been a week and a half since he last talked to me. I've sent one text in that time with no reply - so hint taken - it's over. No further contact.

However, its really annoying me that he didn't have the respect to say it to me and I really want to call him up on it. I know 2 months wasn't long, but I still think that people should end things properly regardless of how long you have been seeing someone. A quick 'hey, I'm not interested anymore' text takes 30 seconds and leaves no room for doubts.

Anyway, like I said, I want to pull him up on his cowardly fading out, so I was thinking of sending this:

'hey, so I know things didn't work out between us, which is cool, but it would have been nice to hear it from you and know what changed your mind'.

I don't expect any reply and was going to send it in a text as I don't think he'll answer his phone from me. It's more to get it off my chest really.

What do you guys think? (Hopefully writing it here will be enough for me and I won't even feel the need to send it to him)

Let it go. His silence is his message to you he doesn't want to continue things. Take his (broad) hint. Why give him the satisfaction of knowing you're obviously fussing about this? Where's your dignity? You already text him once. He had not responded.

I clicked "like" on your post because you had the answer right there. Get a piece of paper. Write down all the stuff you would say to him if he showed up at your door one day. Burn the paper in a farewell ritual. ;)

As pissed as you are, no makes no difference whether you think he was being a coward or not. You are not entitled to any kind of explanation, etc. It's really a waste of energy for you to even contemplate the idea of wanting this to end as you would like it to. Just move on. It will gnaw at you for a bit, but you'll forget about it soon enough.

don't text him again. it will only boost his little ego if he knows that he has gotten to you.
