Is there such a thing as a female player?

There are plenty of them. Society tends to label them with different, somewhat offensive titles.

The girls labeled with those offensive titles aren't really female users but wild girls. According to Urban Dictionary this is one of the definition of a real maneater (female player):

 

The female equivalent to the more male-associated words like pimp or player. An irresistable woman who chews and spits out men after using them for some sort of gain -- be it sexual, financial or psychological.
