Taking time getting to know eachother is SO hard when I really just wanna DIVE IN

I'm really good at reeling it in, but man - I just wanna go FULL SPEED AHEAD ALL THE TIME. It's like I feel like there's something wrong if things don't progress at warp speed.

 

Given that all of my past relationships have always been warp speed and nothing has worked out, I'm not trying to sabotage myself by wanting or wishing for it.....I'm just trying to make sense of what this should be like and getting to where I believe that this is normal.

The better question is: Where are you usually comfortable at in a relationship? The slow and patient way....well, you may feel comfortable after a few given months.

 

Just don't let that warp drive get out of hand, and blast you into something you'd not like...to repeat the past is a sad thing indeed.

Oh there is no need to feel insecure. Things are happening at a steady pace. As long as you and him are getting along and making a steady progress, I wouldn't care.

 

Hey. You said none of your previous relationships worked out at warp speed. Take this as a good sign and let go. In time you will adjust to this. As long as it isn't moving way way too slow, it's all good.

Every relationship is going to be different because the two people in it are different. You do yourself a disservice by comparing it to others. Just enjoy the journey, the experiences you have with this person, and the unique progression of your relationship.

What do you do for a living? Believe me, if you are REALLY busy, I dont care who the other person is, you will have some balance...Maybe take a second job?...

I hear ya and I recognize that this is a weakness of mine......

 

I do have a full time job/career - and a child.....and two dogs LOL. I really don't want a side job but am aware that I need to occupy my time with things other than wanting to spend time with him. It's really unhealthy.
