JDPT Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 The pain we feel is like torrential rain. It may keep us inside the house for a while. But once it's over we are free to go out and enjoy life again. This is just another wave you need to ride through. Be strong and know that it will subside. We all know the feeling, we've been through the wringer and back excessively. You just need to hang tight and proactively continue to contribute toward your healing journey. You have come a long way and should gracefully acknowledge that. 1

SincereOnlineGuy Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Since this is about breaks and breaking-up: Make your highest priority the separation of him the individual from your emotional investment in him. Recognize that him the individual is (considerably?) flawed, and probably not worthy of your extreme interest... ... while at the same time recognizing that your emotional investment IN him is and has been a wonderful thing. Most of the great experiences you shared resulted NOT as much from him the individual, but instead were the results of you yourself having independently opted to make him important while then rewarding yourself at such times as when he did predictable things which warmed your heart. In summation, you gave most of the great feelings to yourself, while needing mainly just to be able to trust and anticipate him in order to accomplish same. Perhaps, in the end, he was merely untrustworthy, among other things. 2
