Emma1234 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Wow. Still beaming over this. Yesterday I was walking through a narrow path, my ex lives literally 5 minutes away so it's a wonder I haven't seen him before now. He was walking towards me and I started to panic. This felt like a moment I'd been dreading for 5 months (2 and a half year relationship, left to find himself - found out that pretty much meant play the field and sleep around a bit). Anyway, we caught eye contact and I completely took control of the situation! I waved and smiled, then we sort of reached each other and I said hey how are you? He said fine you? I said I was good but then I said I was really late for something so I had to go and left with a calm, happily neutral smile. The thing is I was so much more comfortable than him, I was confident and happy whereas he was nervous and awkward and could hardly look me in the eye. He almost seemed scared and embarrassed. I haven't replied to him attempts at contact so that could have been the reason. I just wanted to share with you all as I'm incredibly happy right now, first encounter that I'd been dreading went exactly the way I wanted!! It also helped that I had tried incredibly hard with my appearance that day. I simply walked away with my head held high and then didn't even think about it for a while! How strange what time can do. 4
Busybee1 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Good for you! I can only hope I feel the same after 5 months. Everyone says 'time will heal'. Makes you wish you had a fast forward button to avoid the heart ache. Your post gives us broken hearts hope!
forgetmenot75 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Mmm why would you have to walk that path you knew you'll probably meet him? While it's good you manage the situation it almost feels like you looked for that encounter? Why would you do that, for him to see you? I'd try to avoid common places in the future, it's innecesary stress.
Author Emma1234 Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 It's the way I go every day to get to university, it's the only route. It I'd unusual for him to be that way as he doesn't live that way. Trust me I did not plan this, I take this route 4 times a day.
Author Emma1234 Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 After re-reading my post though i can understand how it sounds that way
