MrE Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 the other day i was doing what i had thought to be a kinda cadio bench press with only 60 pounds worth of weight on the bar & I did that for a 5 to 10 minutes till my arms got tired. Then when i hit the limit my arms where so worked they couldnt really push anymore. So i held the weight up a couple seconds then proceeded to do reps of 2 for about 15 more times.Reason being is that my arms felt so week that if i tried a third rep then it would have prolly come crashing to my chest.I know that benching 60 pounds isnt that much but i can only bench about 150 max.(Havent tried in a while to see my max)But now the area just above my elbows on both arms are Fudging killin me.Not in the full tricep region.Just elbow to about a quarter up from the elbow. Is this good that they feel like they where hit by a truck & are that sore.cause ive never felt anymuscle that sore.My arms are still opperational & I dont think its that significent but just incase im trying to concure with anyone out there that specializes in muscular fatigue or what ever this may be.Is this good or bad?(its been like five days & they still are in feelin stretched.Oh yeah now i got some pretty bad shin splints to-remedy if you got one please)
ConfusedInOC Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 You just over-exerted yourself. Take a break for a week until you heal up. I wouldn't suggest over-doing it anymore. Building up the weight takes time, you can't do it all in one session.
Author MrE Posted December 11, 2004 Author Posted December 11, 2004 Im not trying to build up the weight.Im trying to work off some poundage rather swiftly.I was givin the target of 20 pounds in 16 days by an army recruiter.I weighed in there at 231 (nude at home i was 228.5 reason being i had on alot of clothing).I was 228 cause it was right after thanks giving & rams football & I had drank a lil over a 12 pack & ate a massive amount of food.My usual weight was fluciuating between 226 & 224 and now im down to about well this mornin i was 218.I think target is 211 by thursday next week.

Then stay off the weights and start running. I suggest the treadmill because it's least amount of impact on your feet for running. If that's too much, get on the bike. Go an hour if you can. Lifting weights is not the best cardio workout. Run for 30 minutes. Bike for 15 minutes. Stepper for 15 minutes. Do this every day. Lay off anything white (bread, rice, pasta, etc) and anything fried. Eat only grilled foods and veggies. The pounds will come off.
Author MrE Posted December 11, 2004 Author Posted December 11, 2004 I do the stepper about every othr day for 20 to 25 & the nexttime will be 30 atleast. As for running i go to the lake by myhouse & its about a positive 6 (its got mile markers) if not a seven for the long route i take.I did about 2/5th jogging & the rest running yesterday.Today i went & it was near freezing out with drizzle that would stick to my glasses.I walked but my calves where in a slight bit of pain but my shins where killin me I had to stop at a gazebo & sit down & rub those areas for a few minutes.I did a lil jogging going a lil bit into the pain zone but new better than to go all outin fear of risking permanent damage. maybe i should just let my legs rest & do some situpes & pushups and attempt to do 3 minute incraments of shadow boxing using 5 pound weights. Why am i posting this instead of doing this? (slaps himself in head)
