Went to a concert on Sunday night, in the queue outside a girl instantly took my attention.

 

I noticed that she was in the queue to buy a ticket on the door. My friend has a spare ticket so I seized the opportunity, got my friend to hand me the spare ticket and sold it to her.

 

We then went to the bar together and had a really nice chat, she seemed to be flirting with me (I'm very naive with things like this, I've never really dated despite having had two long term relationships).

 

Anyway, the night progressed and I got her number. 'Great' I'm thinking, or maybe she was just being nice..

 

I sent her a text, told her it was nice to meet her, did she enjoy herself..

 

We then have a brief text conversation, she said it was good to meet me too..have I had a good day..etc

 

She would reply to my messages normally within about half an hour..I would also do the same so as not to look to needy etc (I think that's what you're supposed to do?)

 

I ask her if she would like to go for a drink..yes she says..I ask when....it's this message which my phone tells me she hasn't even read yet..this was 8 last night..

 

So, I guess I have a few questions: Do ladies give out their number just to be polite? Would she be replying just to be friendly? Has she ignored the last text for a reason? I know none of you are her so obviously don't 100% know for sure, I'm just trying to learn about the ways of woman, despite having two long term relationships I've never really had to deal with the whole dating/getting peoples' numbers thing before.

 

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not totally desperate for a date with this girl, although it would be nice. I'm just trying to learn a bit more about these things.

Women give out fake numbers to be polite. Not real numbers. Cool Dow, hold your horses, and see what happens. She'll probably get back to you soon. If not, hit her back on Thusrday and try to ask her out.
