tlegend Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Long story short.....I have another chance with a woman I truly care about deeply. I have set up a date tonight and would like to hear some advice on some choices. I generally don't have a problem thinking of ideas for dates, but this one is different. I am extremely nervous as I want this night to go really really well. Without diving into too much detail, I messed things up and scared this woman away. She still has feelings for me, and I have feelings for her. She agreed to go on a date with me tonight to talk about things and catch up. She's very excited to be going, and so am I. She's very frugal, so a grand and expensive date won't impress her, however, she isn't used to being wined and dined either. I believe she says she doesn't like to be taken out on dates because she hasn't ever really been taken out on a real date. Theres 2 sides to every story, I realize, but from what I know about her, she really bends over backwards for the people in her life (including boyfriends), and that was never reciprocated. It's chilly today and I dont expect the weather to get any better. I wanted to include a cheap, but fun, ferris wheel ride, as it's a tourist attraction that many locals don't ever ride. I was thinking about something like a comedy club too, where the atmosphere can start off with light-hearted mood to set the tone for the evening. Again, she's frugal, and I'm looking for awesome and memorable date night ideas or a plan that I can somewhat follow. Thank you in advance for your help and I am looking forward to hearing your ideas. PS - I can't stress enough the importance of this date to me. 1
hogwild Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Hey tlegend, The ferris wheel might be great if she dresses warm enough and isn't afraid of heights. I'm a stand-up comedian and I will tell you it's a bad idea to go to a comedy club as a first date. In the US, most comedy clubs aren't cheap because there's a drink minimum. It can be a great date for an established couple. But as a new couple, you don't want the comedian picking on you or bringing up topics that could make things awkward for you two. Also, this is like a movie date because you can't talk during the show. If you do, it's rude and the comedian might humiliate you. I made a video called 5 Fun Date Ideas: I hope that helps you! - Hog 1
Author tlegend Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 Thank you hogwild. Your video was both entertaining and informative. Any other people out there with any ideas to woo this girl? Can anyone relate an experience of a date that sticks out in your mind? What made it memorable and what made it so awesome for you? 1
Mascara Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Dance lessons? Preferably something you're both bad at so you can collapse into laughter. A salsa bar for example. 1

(As I said, she is very frugal.) She loves outdoor activities, but isn't afraid to do the "clubbing/bar" scene too. She loves to be able to unwind and be carefree as her day to day duties pretty much demand her full attention. As far as movies, she isn't into horror or scary flicks. She is mostly into feel good/romantic/family/adventure with a happy ending type of movies. I recently tried to watch some scary witch haunting movie with her and we couldn't even make it past 1/3 of the movie before turning it off. Her favorite place would be in the middle of nowhere camping. She's a country girl by heart...stuck in the city. I've thought about this really hard, and with fall being here, and the weather being bleek outside, anything done today outside would need to be a quick affair as it is very cold and chilly. I thought about taking her to a haunted house...but I dont know if standing in line in the cold for an hour before a 15 minute haunted house would be a good idea, especially because she isn't into scary things like that. She is fiercly independent, she is extremely witty and fairly intelligent. She says what's on her mind, she isn't judgemental at all, and she's very laid back and down to earth. She doesn't beat around the bush, she's brutally honest and I love it, and she loves it when a man can take control and tell her what to do rather than ask her opinion. I guess I should be a little more clear on some of the ideas we can't do simply based on location/time/weather. I live in Seattle. The weather today is like 40-50 degrees, its foggy, wet, and cold. Haunted house idea? Probably not a good idea. Comedy Club? I've heard great things about this, possibly a plan B. Ferris Wheel ride? Possibly, again, weather permitting. I would love to take her camping/hiking/to a park/the wilderness/etc, however, due to my limited time constraint of tonight, and the weather being what it is, many of those ideas will simply not work / work for another day. Again, thank you for all your suggestions, they are good ones!
