imfine Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 It's common to look back and romanticize a relationship after it ends whether it's an affair or not. However depression is not normal. You probably need to speak to your physician about it.

I feel like I'm in denial about how bad this situation had really gotten... SSRI + counseling can really turn things around. It did for me! Don't be afraid to get help. What do you have to lose? My only caution would be to see a psychiatrist and not a GP. Expertise counts for a lot. It's not something to fool around with.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, symptoms of depression may include the following: Difficulty concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions Fatigue and decreased energy Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and/or helplessness Feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or excessive sleeping Irritability, restlessness Loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable, including sex Overeating or appetite loss Persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems that do not ease even with treatment Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" feelings Thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts If you feel like the above you should really go see a doctor.
