Kaitie Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I have been dating this guy for 3 weeks, I am 22 and he is 25. He asked me to carve pumpkins with his family next week and I would like to bring something for them all. I am a pretty good baker and always get comments on how good my cupcakes are, so was thinking about bringing Halloween themed cupcakes for everyone. It starts at 4 and his family seems to be very fun and laid back. Thoughts please?
Philosoraptor Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I'd say holiday themes treats are a great idea. They aren't over the top and they fit well with what you are going to be doing with his family. 3
clia Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I think it sounds like a great idea! Who doesn't love a cupcake?
ThomasD Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Sounds awesome! If there are younger kids in the house - anywhere from about 4 yrs to 16 or so - they may jump at the chance to help you bake the cupcakes. (Assuming it's practical to bring the dry and wet ingredients pre-mixed but separate, and the cupcake pan ready to go with papers, etc.) If you expect to be with this guy for a while there will probably come a time when it will be useful to have the younger brothers or sisters as friends. If I recall correctly, my (now) wife and I gathered elderberries and baked a pie for her dad on the weekend of our 3rd date. The elderberry pie has been a minor tradition every few years for 40 years now.
mammasita Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Definitely cupcakes or cookies and maybe a bottle of wine for the mom (if that's her thing of course)!
scorpiogirl Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Just make sure that nobody is allergic to anything you might put in the cakes ( nuts, wheat etc) and I'm sure they'll love it 1
