clint100 Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I am considering getting my Navel Pierced, is it a good idea? Not enough info here- although nice belly rings!!
LucreziaBorgia Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 It depends. Are you willing to put in the time and commitment to making sure it doesn't get infected? Do you wear clothing which will pull at the ring? If you are serious about it, and are of the right age - then there's no harm really. Just get yourself some low cut jeans/pants and follow your piercer's advice to the letter on making sure it doesn't get infected, and make sure you understand how long you have to keep in your piercing ring before you take it out and replace it with more decorative pieces.
Jilly10340 Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I got mine pierced about a year and a half ago. I also did research on the internet about it, but all I heard was bad stuff. I got it done anyway, and it was fine. The procedure itself didn't even hurt. It was sore for the first few days but after that it was fine. It never got infected like all the things I've heard, you just have to clean it with liquid soap everyday in the shower until it heals.
tiki Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I took mine out, hated it. Get your nose pierced instead. Low maintenance.
savethedrama4allama Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I hated mine too. It was always in the way- getting irritated by my pants, etc. Took it out. Plus side is, if you don't like it there isn't much of a scar when you take it out.
tiki Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Mine has left a yuck scar. Right over the tope of my belly button. But I scar easily.
Merin Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 My navel is pierced.. had it done about 3 years ago. I've never had any problems with it, don't regret it at all
Pocky Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 The procedure itself didn't hurt at all. However, after I got it done I hated it. My pants kept rubbing on it, clothes would snag it and it kept getting infected. Sure isn't sexy when you have green ooze coming from your belly button. I removed mine and it left a scar. A little round dot the size of a pencil eraser right above my belly button. I wouldn't say it's a bad idea, but it's not all you'd expect either.
zara Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Not that it matters! My ex bf had his navel pierced and i thought it was wildly sexy! If you want it and will look after it then it's a good idea!
Moose Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Last edited by LoveShack.org Moderator on 7th December 2004 at 9:29 AM Why: "navel," referring to belly-button. "Naval" pertains to Navy ... don't think those guys would all want to be pierced! I don't know, you might be surprised!
zara Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Naval piercings... mmmm... let me take a moment to think about that....

Starnette83 Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 I got my navel piercing and I liked it alot, it was fun buying cute colorful rings to match outfits, unfortunately i lost my ring once and it closed, then months later ui went back and re did the hole, and was happy again, but well i lost my piercing again, sorry im diso0rganized, and when ifinally bought a ring i couldnt push it through because my hole had closed again so now i dont know if to get it done or leave it this way... even tho i miss it... Its been a year without it...but if someone offered to pay for it and do it, id do it:) its fun! but its 50 dollars to just make a hole that only takes 3 seconds to do...it doesnt hurt much, just like a hard pinch, but its not a big deal.. anyways highly recommeded
