Hello I am being offered a supervisor position .Hence this will be my first supervisory role also with a new company. During the interview the lady who would be my boss told me that the house I would be going to has several disrespectful , lazy employees that also steal. I also told that they do not listen to supervisors at all and this would be the second one that left. My problem is I am a nice caring person but can be firm when need be . I wanted to know if there are any tips that anyone could lend to me about the employees. I do not want to be the mean boss but I also dont want to be the pushover .

Document, document, document. Progressive discipline, except for the employees who are stealing. Fire them immediately, but as far as termination letters go for "misconduct", not for "stealing". That may save you some headaches down the road.

Have a meeting with all hands as soon as possible, setting out your expectations and what you'll do if those expectations are not met.

What kind of gig is this?
