distractions to get over b/u?

Its been 4 months since my boyfriend and i broke up, he dumped me. We dated for around a year. I'm still struggling so much with this. I went NC for a month which helped in a sense but I was always sad. We've been talking the past month and hooked up a couple times (tsk tsk i know). We've both been trying to distract ourself with our "new" lives but neither of us are close to being over the other person yet. Is distraction the way to go? Did it work for you... I've heard the rule that it takes half the time of the relationship to get over the person and i'm almost at that time but i dont see the light at the end of the tunnel... help.

I think distractions are a great way to go. "Studies show" that people oft report being less anxious and happier when their minds are occupied. To that end, you could engage yourself in: reading, writing, music, exercise, cooking, shopping, hanging with friends/family, school, work, tv/movies, volunteering, painting/drawing, or scrimshaw.
