My ex left me in August. She still has a china plate that is part of an antique picnic hamper that belongs to my mum.

The day I left i was sure I had everything, alas not!

My brother & his fiance say that I should just turn up at her door unanounched and ask for it back, basically putting her on the spot.

She has kept the fact that she has this as a way of organising a coffee, which I am happy to do, but it's been a few weeks since she has been in touch. The last I heard, she text me saying "I was thinking about meeting for a coffee with you after work" or similar.

I'm tired of waiting though really. I would talk about fixing things if she suggested it, but my brother's Mrs basically told me she feels my ex is a lot like her & the only way they have sorted these issues is when my brother turned up at her door.

Whatsmore my horoscopes (yes, feel free to mock) have recently talked about relationship issues & making a stand.

I think I should just keep to living my life as I am, enjoying things, but knowing something of mine is still with her makes it harder.

Any thoughts?

Just had a text from her...

"Hi, I really need to get your mum's plate back to you..."

"Hope you're well?"

I've been polite & offered to collect it. She's been very quick to respond.

I'll be glad to get this out of the way & behind me!
