So recently I've started talking to a girl at college (High School.) I first met her at the beginning of summer at the start of term. We talked once a week when our timetables put us in the same place.

I got her number last week when I was telling her about a trip to London and since she was planning on going at a similar date, I said she could come with me and my mates. She seemed keen for that.

I spent lunchtime with her yesterday, it was just us and was nice. It was the first time we spent time together without anyone else around. There wasn't really any flirting, we just chatted. She seems to like my company.

The thing is, she's quite quiet and shy. Sometimes I struggle to here her and she says she doesn't like to socialize in big groups a lot. I don't want to chose between spending time with her or my mates at college.

I want to step things up a bit and move onto a date. How do I ask? It feels weird saying 'date' but I don't want to be just friends.

She lives about 30 miles away and I'm nearer to hers tomorrow so was going to ask if she fancied meeting up in the evening for a coffee or something. thoughts? Its been awhile since I've dated anyone.
