My woman and I are approaching 5 months, deeply in love, and our kids are buddies. Earlier this week I was on the phone with her father giving him financial strategy advice. We spend a lot of time together on weekends, and a few nights during the week. We are talking about a future together, and will combine our cellphone plans next month (oooh what commitment!) :p

As stated in my other post, she surprised me 2 weeks ago with a Brazilian wax. I did not request this, but I was soooo happy that she would do that for me. I know it must have hurt like mad, so I literally thanked her 100x!!

Today she surprised me with 2 tickets to "The Book of Mormon" for January 2014. This is the hottest ticket in Los Angeles, since it's such a short limited run.

I love her soooo much, and I want to show her my appreciation. We are both 39 years old, high executives in our fields, so extravagant $$ stuff doesn't really impress us all that much. I'm looking for romantic and creative ways to say "THANK YOU!! I LOVE YOU!!"

Any ideas?

I'm assuming romantic weekend is tough to do with children involved?

Take whatever she likes the most, whatever her hobbies/passions are, and magnify them. For example, if she likes hiking, take her to Big Sur and have a little picnic on the trail.

Etc etc -- only you know what her interests are.

But take that little something and turn it into a big something.

((imagining an entire testicle dangling from a strip of wax, with a guy screaming and the waxer standing there in shock))

Phantom - just think of what she loves. Travel? Shopping? Chocolate? Shoes? Art? And then come up with something amazing that revolves around that.

You guys are both successful and have $$$, so - find out where her favorite band is touring, buy tickets to stay in a hotel there for a weekend, then spring the concert on her when you are already there.

Things like that. It's just a matter of knowing what makes her tick, and then putting some effort into it.

In all seriousness, how about a book that reminds you of her? And a sweet card? And even if you're close, have it mailed.

I just got a card and book from my gf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally blew my day away (in a good way)! :)

This is what I actually did tonight. I recalled her craving Creme Brulee from Portos (famous bakery in LA) late last night. She was complaining about her menstrual cramps, and such dessert would make her pain go away. So after work I drove an hour to Portos and got her 1/2 dozen Creme Brulee, and delivered it to her house. She was so happy, which made me happy. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will try each and every one of them. I think it's the effort that really counts. :)
