OK so I am on day 4 of my husband's imposed hell. I have been on here reading, reading, and a little posting. Is there such a thing as too much reading the boards? I mean, I'm certainly not ignoring my activities or children, but what I wonder is - is it good to just be totally immersed in all things divorce so I can get used to the idea, or is that going to just make it harder? Kind of the same question about crying. Is there some amount of total crying that one does - so if you cry a whole hell of a lot at first, you will be over it faster? Or if you just let yourself cry all the time, are you wallowing in misery?

What about the whole divorce process? Better to hurry it up and be done with it, or take it slowly to give myself time to get used to the idea?

Sorry, just random thoughts from a sleep deprived woman who doesn't even know which way is up.

If you have to ask (which means that you feel it might be too much), chances are that it is a bit too much, yes.

As with any addiction...LS can become one. If you want to do yourself and your kids some good...know this, you don't need this forum to know you, to know you are a good person with a lot of love in your heart. The people here are hurting..it's sort of like pergatory...but you determine where you get lost and when you climb out of the hole.

Good Luck

Melissa, for me the forums are therapeutic, although, like you I sometimes find I use it too much! If you are worried, you could limit it to a certain amount per day or do it after the kids are in bed (that's what I try to do).

I find it helps reading about other people's journey, as many are dealing with the same kind of issues you are going through. Often, people's timelines of events are quite similar and you can gain some considerable knowledge by reading what other people have gone through and even get some ideas of what helped them, and it will benefit you, in your own situation.
