Senn Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 So here's the story I started work in a big incoming class of analysts about a month ago with this girl, T. We became friends and went out on weekends etc. I pretty much solidified myself in the friendzone by talking to her about about guys she was interested in etc. and I shared my relationship status and girls I was interested in. At one point she brought up at a bar about how there was no attraction between us. This is technically a lie since T still is cute as hell, but at that point in time I was focused on other issues and figured having a pretty female friend couldn't hurt. Despite all of this, there was still to some degree, small exchanges of flirting. Fast forward to this past weekend. I was at a concert and I saw a girl who looked remarkably similar to T. So I walked up to her and tried to eventually get her number but did not succeed. However, I went ahead and texted T about it. Here's how the exchange went. Me: "I just tried to get the number of literally your doppelganger. I failed" T: "Wait... you did what????" Me: "I was at a concert last night. There was girl in the crowd near me who I swore looked just like you except shorter and probably older. I tried to get her # but didn't work haha" T: "Hahahaa are you trying to ask me out??? What was her name?" Me: "Pretty sure it was Alex or Allie or something. I couldn't really hear haha." Me: "And come on now haha, do you think I'd really use some obscure convoluted way of asking you out? T: "Hahahha whatever a girl can dream" Me: "Haha oh so are you giving me the greenlight?" No response since then (it's been a day) So that line really caught me off guard. I was really surprised by it. So my question is - is she just messing around? Or could she actually be into me?
meeji Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 she was inviting you to ask her out.You better not make her wait too long... If it has been a day she's probably waiting for you to figure it out. Do it. The worst thing that can happen is she says no...and you're in the same friend zone you're in now. Goo for it. Good luck

No she isn't. She'll only become "interested" in you when you've got other women you are seeing and even "moreso" if you become serious with one. You need to move on from this girl or she'll string you along. You'll eventually develop feelings looking for any sign of hope till she tells you one day she met a guy she's crazy for and will drop you her "friend" leaving you feeling like crap. I know you don't like hearing it but it's going to happen eventually. The only thing you can do is ask her out. No excuses on her part. You are at zero and if she gives excuses or says no you're back at zero. Then it's time to move on.
