brittneyfoster Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Who has done them, and what do you think of them? Recently, I started going on lunch dates with the guy I've been talking to. It's new, different, cheaper, and more relaxing but I still can't help but think "lunch date"? SMH. LOL.
Philosoraptor Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 If it's a real date then why does it matter when it happens? People are free when they are free. I went on plenty of lunch dates in the past, never had an issue.
EasyHeart Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Lunch dates are one step up from meeting for coffee. They are short and finite ("I have to get back to work"), so they are perfect for a quick meet & greet if you're not sure the woman deserves a dinner date.

Philosoraptor Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 The goal should be to get to know the person, where and when this happens isn't a huge concern. Most of my first dates happened doing free things, as I wasn't going to fork out any money for someone I don't really know all that well. I'd go to parks and just walk around and talk or take them to the aquarium (I had two year passes). I used to tell my friends that I'd been there so many times that the fish knew me by name.

The aquarium and the park is an AWESOME idea!!! I wish I met a date who was that creative! Lol. I think I'm so untrusting that I feel like, "If you're taking me to lunch then I suppose your real wife or real girlfriend get the dinner spots." However, now I think I prefer the lunch dates over dinner dates...I feel far less stressed and more comfortable to just talk and get to know that person without the pressure of a kiss or anything extra at the end of the night.

My motto's always been when it's right it's right. Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night? Skyrockets in flight! Afternoon delight! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafternoon delight.

Joaquin Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 If she cant manage to put a nice dress on and get her arse out at night I wouldnt waste my time.
pyramid Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Lunch dates are one of my favorite first/second dates. I don't have to get a sitter, I am already dressed up for work, and they are the perfect length. Once I'm seeing someone for a while, they are a good way to catch up midweek when you have one of those busy schedules/kid issues/travel months.
