Second time around, broken up but going away??

So to cut a long story short, me and my partner have been together for 3.5 years. He is 26 and im 25.

 

Like every relationship we have had big ups and downs, 5 months ago he ended it with no word of a warning - his excuse? the spark wasnt there on his behalf anymore.

 

We were apart for a month and in that time he spend a weekend with one of his exes from years back. Needless to say they slept together. During the break up i tried so hard to understand what had gone wrong, endless tears and sleepless nights.After the month had passed he begged for me to take him back. He told me about the other girl and said it was the biggest mistake of his life, that he regretted everything he did and wished he could go back and change everything he had done. when i asked why he wanted to give us another go he said ‘because now i know what its like to be without you and i never want to feel that again’

 

We got back together in April and things were amazing! He planned a surprise birthday for me, he spoke of the future ie kids marriage in front of his parents we booked a 2 week holiday for this October ect…….then things went a wire last week out of the blue.

 

He surpirsed me at dinner on monday night which was beautiful, Tuesday things changed, he was distant, stopped calling me babe, stopped saying i love you, did see each other at all all week. He has been stressed at work, over worked, goign thro financial difficulties ect but i dont think its that.

 

Friday night i went over to talk (which he said ‘i have a short fuse so dont come over if ur thinking or argueing) he was sick so i looked after him. When i asked him what was going on he simply replied - ‘i dont know’, ‘do you think were better as friends?’ ‘im scared your going to turn into ur mum’ (my mum is a little psycho) and ’sometimes i want a gf and sometimes i dont’ needless to say - we broke up last night (or so im assuming) only one problem….

 

we leave for thailand on wednesday - to which he said we will still go as friends and then when we get back we will go our own ways….

 

how does he expect the trip to be?? im so confused, what do i do?? whats goignt hrough his head - why would you want to go away with someone u dont wnat anything to do with??
