This is such a great forum with various help tips but my situation is a bit complicated. I was married for 18 years before my ex husband decided I no longer fit his needs. He made sure I didn't get any money on settlement and payed child support for one years before he decided to stop and file abuse charges against me which turned out to be unfounded by child protective services and my children's statements. It was only a strategy to get away with paying the support.

He dragged me to court and used his six figures income and resources to pay off judges, custody evaluators and therapists to strip me off primary custody of my kids and stop paying child support for about 6 years now.

I am a hardworking single mother with minimum wage job, no child support, minimum time with my children and no funds to get custody back.

If you have been in similar situation please comment and let me know how you are dealing with everything.

Michelle, this same thing happened to me except I got custody of the children. The only thing that got me through was a close R with the Lord through prayer and reading the Bible each day. God loves you and wants a close friendship with you. He's also in a position to help you a lot and is motivated to do so.

Legal aid, find an advocate for you. Highlight why you would be the better parent and start to get your kids back and the money...if he refuses to pay they can garnish wages. You need to find an advocate for you. Find a woman's group in your area and start networking. As soon as you get a group of women who would go to bat for you, you can get connections and get your kids back. It will take time, but what else do you have...
