I don't really know if this is the proper forum for this but here goes. I joined the military in 99 and in 2001 I met my best friend. We talked about everything spent time together and were always there for one another. In January of 04 I first deployed to Iraq and we pretty much lost contact. Pretty much for nearly 10 years we had zero contact. Though now our paths have crossed once again and she told me that she has always had feelings for me. I felt the same for her but she said she always assumed that mine were more of an infatuation. We kissed a couple times and I asked what this meant. I asked if we were dating and she said what's the point dating is to find out about someone. She said bf/gf situation would be more appropriate. She told me she loved me and we parted ways. Well I know that at the current moment she has a lot going on. Which is no bother. Though she isn't returning my calls or responding to my texts now so I guess that I am concerned a little. I spoke to her briefly yesterday and she said she loved me and it was good to see me and that she would call me back. She didn't. I've never been in love with anyone else and have always thought true love was a farce. What ways does a woman show that she really is in love with someone. Its only been a couple weeks since we crossed paths again.

I know this sounds likely pathetic but dating and relationships in general were never really my strong suit.

Thanks for any and all advice.
