I am curious what diciplines/activities you folks do on the regular that give you a sense of freedom. How does it feel?

For me it is playing music. No matter my mood if I am able to give my self to the sound I feel lifted and all of my problems are transmuted. I am able to see all the aspects of my life from a distance and rather than being over taken by them, I channel that energy into the music. This is especialy freeing when I am feeling angry or deppressed. I don't have to be sad because the music will be sad for me! Its great.

What about you?

Exercise mainly. Also having a relatively normal and productive life. Those things give me support in difficult times.

Running. It feels like pain because I'm not in very good shape. The first ten minutes or so are easy. Then my lungs start to get angry at me. Not long thereafter, the second wind will arrive. Once that goes away, it's just a matter of will. I get angry at the idea that I have to stop. I get angry at the idea of my body/brain telling my mind what to do. So I keep going a little bit longer.

Mostly guitar, but also keys and a little bit of many other instruments.

I feel like there has got to be someone on this forum with some really unique activity. Where are all those deep cave explorers or ghost hunters at?

Awsome. For some reason your description makes me think of Butoh. Ever seen a Butoh dancer?
