why would somebody suddenly block you on fb long after you cut contact?

I dated a guy over the spring and ended things with him in May because he was jerking me around. I was the one who officially ended it but he had made it clear he wasn't interested in anything serious with me.

 

He had treated me with very little respect near the end, so I sent him an email about my reasons for ending it. He wrote me back an angry response. For clarity, he wasn't angry about me ending things but because I dared to criticize his behavior. He said some nasty things about me in the email. I asked him never to contact me again. I also unfriended him on facebook.

 

I haven't contacted him or heard from him since or really thought of him much. About a month ago curiosity got the better of me and I visited his fb page. There were no new updates on it so I quickly closed it.

 

Today I had the urge to look again but this time his name didn't come up when I typed it in the search field. I asked a friend if she was able to see his profile. She was, so it appears that he has blocked me some time in the last few weeks.

 

Why now? We haven't been in touch since that last email correspondence four months ago.

So you would stop coming up in his 'people you might know' list is one reason.

 

Another might be that he doesn't want you seeing his profile, the more you FB stalk him the more FB's software algorithms shows you to him as someone he might know.

I love it - she Facebook stalks this guy and writes him a ****ty message, but he's a total jerk because he sends her a ****ty message right back. Sounds like he should have blocked you months ago, LoL.

This is a good way to see who might be stalking you.

Well I don't care or feel hurt, so not really. I'm more just curious because it seems weird.
