I feel me and this guy moved too fast on the first date ( no sex) what you think?

I met this guy last Friday and just today was our first date. We went to sit a park and he made the first move. We kissed and cuddled and acted like a couple and he asked me to be his girlfriend. I felt we were moving abit fast so I told him how I felt. He respects how I feel and said he would never push me to do something I don't want to do. We are both attracted and have good vibes about each other but I want to take my time to get to know him. We plan on seeing each other again

How old are you?

How did you meet him?

Did you do anything on the date than sit on a park bench and make out?

I'm 25 and he's 27 and lives a town away from me. I meet him on the public bus I usually take home and my job. That's all we did on the date and we talked more about ourselves and he wanted me to sit on his lap

Yeah, it was fast, but not too late to slow it down a little.

Just tell him you are flattered he wants you to be his girlfriend but that you want to take some time to get to know him.

Then do that. :)

It's a red flag to me that he would ask you to be his girlfriend on the first date. Is he very experienced with relationships? That is a sign of a blowtorcher type of guy. Please make him take you on an actual date for your second date. Try to keep the physical stuff to a minimum. His speed in that realm is also a bit concerning, but you can rein that in. Go with the flow, but remain very cautious.

I will definitely remain cautious. I don't know how experienced he is when it comes to relationships. He told me he has been hurt before many times and that he has ADHD so maybe that could be it? I'm going to make him work hard for me. I been hurt myself. Oh yea I forgot to say we held hands

Maybe he was joking about asing you to be his girlfriend. For your next date you should plan something that involves other activities besides extended periods of making out so you actually get to know eachother.

My current BF of 2.5. years and I spent and hour making out on a park bench on our first date. So, um, I can't judge anyone else for that. agreed that you can still slow it down at this point, though.

I would be fare more concerned about the "girlfriend" request. That would send me running for the hills if it happened on a first date. If you've told him you want ot take it slow, take it slow... if you feel too much pressure from him after you've told him you want to take it slow, then you probably don't want to continue seeing this guy.

In other words, state your desire, and stick to your guns. Ask him to do same. If he can and does, then you've really got something there. if not, then you don't.

Good luck!
