I went to my first support group last night. It was so refreshing to talk with people who are going through what you are gong through.. I recommend it for all people in our situation... It helps you vent to folk who turly understand. And the visos thjy show of people who have gone through divorce and where they were when they started out.

There was a lady up there whose huband left her when she had breadt cancer (was told she had a few months to live, she lost her job and had a 8 year old son)..... I was like whoa!! And to her her talk today was so amazing. The thing that stuck out to me in the class was how they talked about moving at your own pace to heal. But the key to that is you are moving.. Your friends are supposed to tell you you will be alright. But you will be alright when you are ready to be alright... Hang in there everyone...

Hmmm. Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to visit a support group, especially since my anxiety level is at an all time high! I might look for one in my area.

My question is... Are these support groups mostly for Divorce support or Separation support? I see those as needing two separate kinds of support (1) dealing with what has already been decided/happened versus (2) assistance in deciding whether divorce is the appropriate option (or not).

I find that they are hard to find. For non-religious people, they are few and far between as most are put on by the church and have a very spiritual theme to them.
