Hey LS.

So i joined this forum some 2 years ago, when i broke up with my high school sweet heart. We had been together for just short of a year and i really loved her, everything was great and i had no worries in life back then.

We broke up rather suddenly and almost had NC from the beginning, it didn't take her long to find someone else either and they are still together today.

I steered away from feelings for a long time but this new years eve i met someone else, and im really happy being with her. It's a much more mature relationship, we do all kinds of things together compared to my ex.

But the thing is, i don't feel the same love for her. It's so hard thinking about my ex, especially the beginning of our relationship was just magical. I loved her in a different way, a pure way, no holds barred crazy about her.

After our break up i was depressed for a long period of maybe 6 months, then i finally got alot better. Lately i have been relapsing tho. Last night i stayed up late, and she entered my mind before sleeping. I ended up dreaming about her too, a really sweet dream and now that im awake i feel so empty. Even when i have a nice loving girl! I don't know what to do, it's not fair to my girlfriend is it? And theres no way i could even initiate conversation with my ex, i just want to forget her once and for all.

I'd say so. I had crushes before and something like a 1 month relationship when i was 15. But this was definetly real love, and definetly the first time feeling it.

If she was your first love..

I know how you feel.

I think we all have this special type of love feeling for our first love, because after mine broke it off..I could never find myself to have that same type of love towards another guy.

I understand that feeling.

Ok then let me give you a little tip about first love that is very true. Honestly nothing compares. And its possible to have love in your heart for this sweetheart your entire life. However, you need to put it into a healthy perspective. Feel blessed you had the experience and move forward to a love that is right for you at this time in your life. Its ok to still feel, but healthy perspective is key. I hope that helped.
