alexjames Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I'm 21 and my girlfriend is 18. Even though we've only been together for 2 weeks, (we knew each other a month or so first) I've really fell for her. She has gone on holiday Today with her mum for 2 weeks and I won't be able to get in contact with her as her phone charges too much abroad etc. I'm really going to miss her. We only see each other a couple f times a week but text everyday. I'm feeling really low! I know I sound pathetic, but as I say, I really have fallen for her and these next 2 weeks will be horrible! Anybody got any tips? It's ironic as I'm off this fortnight from work as my parents are away so thought I'd take the time off!
TigerCub Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 aaawww young love The only thing you can do is to just keep busy. Hang out with your friends, do things you like so that the time passes quicker. 1

That's about all I can suggest if the phone bill prevents long-range communication. Try to compare to something relative, you know - two weeks is better than two months. A couple of weeks will pass by rather swiftly if you keep your mind pre-occupied.
yum yum Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I know roaming charges suck but why not both use facebook or Skype on phone to keep in contact? Also you should be doing other things, I mean what were you doing with your free time before she was in your life? That being said when she comes back you could always meet her at the airport as a surprise
Author alexjames Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 The thing is though, her mum is really protective (I can only see her 2/3 times a week and only for a couple of hours at a time, she isn't allowed to stay round mine, only allowed out with me to local town etc and has to be in at certain times etc) plus we both work awkward times, so it is hard to ever see her anyway, so texting is our only real point of contact 9 times out of 10. Because of how protective her mum is, she wont be allowed to internet cafes (I doubt she's want too anyway) as her mum will want to stay by the pool all week and won't let her out of her sight! So I really can't see us talking much, if at all this week! It's crazy, I keep worrying about her, hoping the flight goes ok, hoping she feels ok all holiday etc! I really can't stop thinking about her, I really have fallen for this girl I think!!!
Fondue Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Reading this thread and this kid's replies makes me think, "damn, I wish I could care like that." I would normally say to find something to occupy your time, maybe pick up a new video game (gta5 I heard was life changing), or make some new friends, join a club, take a few dancing lessons, etc.. But I guess I don't think in the way that you do, I don't really worry about people's time off from me. So I wouldn't know why you're finding it so stressful. As far as communication goes, you guys can email each other every couple of days. SUrely there is wifi at the hotel.
