Whendovescry Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 So my ex and I have been broken up for a little over a week now. We lived with each other and both have moved out of the old house. Unfortunately thus can't be a clean cut of ties because there are still bills to pay for the house we lived in. All of the bills just happened to be in my name so I am obligated to try and communicate with him about paying me for his half. We had issues when we first moved in with him paying me half of everything but, eventually he started paying. I sent him a text two days ago asking about some things, no chit chat straight forward and no emotion. He has yet to text me back. I know it's still hard and he's purposely ignoring me because he is trying to heal. But, I'm now under the impression that if he can't be mature enough to simply answer me back that I might be SOL with getting his half of everything. I talked to a friend about it and she recommended that take him to small claims court if he doesn't pay me, no exceptions. None of the bills will be in/due until mid October so I'm thinking he might lighten up a bit and feel less hesitant to communicate with me by then. What do y'all think? Should I just keep my cool and be understanding that he is just being immature for now or should I just all together not ask him for the money and serve him with a legal bind to oh me? Keep in mind that if I do have to serve him it won't be just for the upcoming bills but also the ones he never paid for in the beginning of our lease.
