I approached a girl in my physics class. She is a beautiful girl with many attributes that have caught my eye. When she spoke she had a very deep voice. I have heard her speak before in a softer, more feminine tone so I was taken back when I heard a masculine voice that I probably failed making a great first impression.

By deep voice I mean deeper then most of my guy friends, and is the deepest voice I have heard coming from a girl.

I even had a friend in my class joke about her voice after I approached her.

My question is "Would you pursue/date a girl with a deep masculine voice?"

Are you sure this girl is actually a girl?

I don't mind. Sometimes I like a deeper voice.

As long as she doesn't sound like:

-Andrew Luck

-Shaq

-Will Ferrel when he got shot with the dart in Old School

-The distorted voice the news gives people who don't want to be identified

We're all good.

I mean I can't start ruling girls out because of voice now. I have high standards as it is.

That's what I sound like. I guess it rules me out :(:p

I'd have a hard time with it. If I got to know her over a long period in a non-dating way and got attracted to her that way, then it really doesn't matter. But if she is just one of many attractive looking girls I will see in everyday life....I'll go for a different girl.

I went out a few times with a blonde girl @5'3", big tits, big ass, small tight body, nice face. But she had manly looking hands. Neither of us were thinking it was anything other than sex, but her hands would have killed it for me anyway.

My experience is that polyps on vocal cords is the likely cause and why she hasn't sought a diagnosis. I had an elderly aunt who over telephone was often addressed as sir. She refused treatment.

Well, you learn something new every day.

Would kind of suck to be stuck with an un sexy voice:(

It is what I enjoy; meeting a guy online and talking to him on the phone for the first time, since I have a nice girly voice that most guys comment on.

Man. That would really suck actually!

I've noticed over the decades that women of my and my parent's generations, generally those who were life-long smokers, even if having quit later in life, trended to the deeper, more gravely voices of males. Perhaps I'm more used to it so wouldn't consider it a factor in whether or not to date someone.

From my experience, Woman with deeper voices tend to have higher testosterone levels, makes them highly sexually driven. I would take an alto over a soprano any day of the week.

Its hard to say without actually hearing it you know? But a kinda husky voice can sometimes be quite sexy I guess, thinking like Zooey Deschanel and Angelina Jolie

It wouldn't be on my list of things I go for in a girl but I love an accent on a girl - especially Geordie, irish, American or aussie...I think most of those tend to higher, although the aussie accent can be quite low on girls.

Id definitely take a low voice over a siren high / shrill voice - I couldn't live with that!

Saying that thou apparently its a scientific fact both men and women lower there voice when talking to someone there attracted to - so you could be well in mate ;)

I like feminine/petite women. I only date women whom are just "small."

A woman with a deep voice would probably kill that for me. I wouldn't feel as manly around her.

I dunno, it's weird to say. I prefer to feel like a man around my women. I wouldn't have that if she had a deep voice.

So no, I wouldn't.

Goodluck, brother!

EDIT: One of the women I am currently seeing has a tiny mini mouse voice. It's incredibly adorable. Funny thing, my friend told me this the other day: "dude, I'd totally kill to **** her voicebox."

I knew a girl with a very deep voice, like you my friends used to make jokes about her and she was shy to talk around new guys( I guess,People usually react dramatically) but I was very interested, even pursued her sadly she wasn't interested.....

So in short yes, I very much would

I believe what people think about minor stuff like this shouldn't influence you 'this' much

I know I would be turned off by a man with a high voice. I'm very, very, very picky about voices. Today, one of my cute co-workers talked to me. Usually, we don't talk and I haven't heard that much from him yet, but today we talked and I thought I don't like his voice. Oh... He didn't say anything mean in particular, he just made some harmless jokes, but somehow he managed to sound a tiny bit mean and a bit like a player.

I dated a woman who looked and sounded like Candice Bergen (Murphy Brown). That voice was so deep, I actually liked it. This is not an issue for me at all.

Probably not.

I went out with a girl once who had a slightly deeper pitch, but talking to her was like talking to a drill sergeant. Let me stress the word, ONCE.

There was a thread just like this but about men having high voices.....

Yah, turn off for me but it depends on how bad it is.

Muhahahaha! I have noticed when girls have man hands, and it has been a turn off to me.

I think I will just shove this girl into the friendzone, thanks everyone for your opinions!

Why not give it a chance and see what happens

Is there a chance she is really a he? Does she have an Adam's apple? Are her shoulders wider than her hips? Some of them could fool anyone.
