I was a virgin when I met Patrick, my now bf of 3 years and so was he. Both of us are glad to be each others first and have thought about one day forming a family as soon as we finish college.

Does this happens often, in which both the guy and girl start out as virgins? I wouldn't have been happy if my bf had other girls in the past and it would probably have taken me a while to not think about it.

Are we one of the very few former virgin couples nowadays?

I agree. Society has it even harder for male virgins. It's like they are force to give it up early just for the sake of joining the so called ''Are you a man already''club and they're usually pressured by his friends. I know this because my bf stopped contacting some of his former friends because of that. They would drive him crazy with the ''Bro why don't you get laid already'' and one time went to the extreme of bringing a hooker in his house but since it was his house, he didn't want her nor then in; threw them all out and went NC on them. I'm happy he waited for me and not gave it away on some worthless ONS.

I was in the same situation, my brother would sometimes ask me to spare for a hockey team he used to play with, so through him I ended up knowing the other guys. They were fun to hang around with, but once they eventually knew I was a virgin, there would be times where they would pressure me to have sex with some cougar or something. It was funny at first, but it was annoying when they kept coming up with that topic, especially this one dude who was very crude would ask girls certain questions about me.

It's been over 2 years now since I've hung around with these guys, and I'm better off spending that time meeting other people.

If the last two Cheerios in the bowl can so often find one another, a virgin should be able to find another virgin without too much challenge.

Are you mostly curious to know how many couples had another virgin as their first sex partner, or how many couples gave their virginity to each other then stayed together long-term (or VERY long term)? It wouldn't surprise me to find out that a significant number of people who first have sex at rather young ages (say, 16 or under) have a virgin partner - but they don't stay with that partner very long (maybe just for that one sexual experience) because their motivation for having sex was mainly simple curiosity, or to "get their virginity out of the way", or just giving in to peer pressure.

My wife and I were both 23 year old virgins on our wedding night, and we're still married (to each other!) over 39 years later. That was pretty rare when we married in the mid 1970's, though many more couples who married at that time had been each other's first, even if they didn't wait for marriage.

I wish I could point you to some credible statistics but don't recall seeing any. There IS good evidence that as many as 10% of unmarried people remain virgins through their early 20's. That's certainly a minority, but it's a sizable minority, so just by random chance you would expect a few of them to end up together. Throw in the fact that 20-something virgins have likely CHOSEN to be virgins at that age (not always for religious reasons), and may deliberately seek out other virgins when searching for relationships, and the probability of being each other's first increases.
