WB Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Okay this is going to sound pretty lame. I like this waitress at a place I frequent (I think she just started working there since I've never seen her until a month ago). She seems to be very shy. Besides ordering, we exchanged smiles a few times and that was it. I don't even know if she recognizes me from hundreds of people who go through the place every day. I want to ask her out but I don't want to come off half-cocked. I guess the first thing is to establish some trust. Any suggestions on what to do? thanks
missopinionated Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Leave her a note on a clean napkin. I.e. "Are you available for a coffee next week sometime? See you next time I'm in. Question asked, but no committment or action is required on her part. All you have to do is follow up next time you're in there, which you do by saying "Hey, how about coffee sometime?" Answer 1: yah, that would be great Answer 2: You're sweet, but I'm involved. Thanks for asking." To which you reply, I'm happy for you. See you soon. Answer 3: Go away. If that's what you get, you've already come on too strong. Pick another restaurant.
