SmithJ Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Ex ended things with me three months ago. We have been in contact until recently when I decided it was the best not to. Over the past month he has told me the following lies: 'I got a pay rise of £20,000' he had only been at the company for 2.5 months. A few days later told me this wasn't true. 'I have slept with lots of people since we split up' later told me this was a lie and just wanted to hurt me and see how I'd react. Nice! 'I'm seeing someone 6 years older than me, she's a more successful version of you' I don't know if this is a lie but still a bit nasty telling me 'tell your friends to stop sending me naked pictures of themselves, I'm not interested' I asked him about this and he said he was making it up to hurt me He also told me he doesn't want anyone else to have me but he doesn't want to stop being single yet. I was just curious, has anyone else had their ex's go out of their way to tell lies to hurt their feelings?
Philosoraptor Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 He's trying to get a reaction out of you. Stop responding to him at all and it will eventually stop, or at least you'll learn to stop caring. 1
Author SmithJ Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Yeah I haven't replied to his last message on Monday, just deleted it along with his number. It's just strange though how he dumped me but doesn't want me to be happy with anyone else and wants to make me jealous of his new life. Weird.
Philosoraptor Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 It's about "winning" the breakup and being the one to "move on" first. But they're winning nothing and not really moving on if they are still overly concerned about your reaction to how they are doing.
mammasita Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 You did the right thing cutting contact. It would have been best to do that from the beginning honestly. I mean seriously, he ended things with you; he seems like a narcissistic egocentric prick to keep throwing **** in your face like that – lies or not. 1
lindsay1990 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Yup. No only is he trying to provoke you and play games, but he is being outrageous about it. Best to ignore, nothing good can come of a guy with this dynamic.
mtnbiker3000 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 He sounds extremely immature. Be glad he's gone!!!
ashleyn09 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 yes, my recent ex makes up lies all of the time. I always figure out they are lies but I am in NC now after the biggest lie that really hurt me. Enough is enough
Simon Phoenix Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Not sure why you are in communication with him and allowing him to communicate this stuff with you.
