sickpuppy Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Why does dating seem more difficult these days? It almost seems like society gets more dysfunctional as time goes on. 1
miss_jaclynrae Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Speak for yourself. Dating is easy. I had no problem when I was single. 1
Author sickpuppy Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 isn't it all so nonsensical? It's not like I'm tripping over myself to get married or jump into a relationship but damn..it's like there is so much outside influence and dysfunction going on you see just how screwed up people are. Though in one way I don't mind it. The more screwed up people are the more I seem normal. hahaha 1
Phoe Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Though in one way I don't mind it. The more screwed up people are the more I seem normal. hahaha Exactly! ^_^ haha Sometimes I'm irked by my inability to understand, other times I'm glad to be exempt from the batsh*t. 1

MalachiX Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Dating was never easy for me. At least now I'm starting to chill out about it a little but I think that's more because I'm almost 30
MrCastle Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I venture to say technology plays a part. Social media is making us less social. No one wants to be approached. Everyone has their face in their phone. 3

c57dood Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 A lot of people are struggling financially, and if you have no money you can't date. If it's between survival and romance, survival takes precedence. 1
todreaminblue Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 A lot of people are struggling financially, and if you have no money you can't date. If it's between survival and romance, survival takes precedence. i think this is really true....but i often take no money with me when i go out....i make my own fun...smilin...beach is free, parks are free picnics are what you have at home and portable........feeding the ducks are free...maccas has ice cream for fifty cents how cool is that....lol...big kid....grinnin.botanical gardens are free with huge trees to get lost under and watch the world go by fro a while.......the lights in the city are free if you go there at night just to see the lights in the sky........a walk is free around the place you love to see.... i think people dotn want to appear cheap so they avoid going where they could go for free...just to splash the cash and show how well they are doing or when you spend money you are either filling your face with food, dancing too really loud music,or ina crowd of peopel where conversations stick mainly aroudn the weather and miley cyruses twerking..... or watching a movie wqhere you sit eating popcorn and trying not to rattle the box...none of these things involve actual conversation thats lasts past five minutes.. doesnt have to be that way .....so many cool things are free...and fun!!!!!..... sometimes the cheapest dates are the most memorable the ones you think hey i was flat broke but it was the best date we talked up a storm, we walked in the rain, we got attacked by ninja ducks on a mission.......we had fun and the kiss after....wow......lets go back there......just to visit ..that is the date ......that you remember..................smilin atcha.......deb
Sugarless Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Feminism happened. Also most people have less social skills than in the past, since technology makes it easier not to interact with people.

Everyone has their face in their phone. You hit the nail right on the head, Mr Castle. I was at a Meetup the other night, she was big computer nerd, kinda cute. Went to contact her on Meetup and she had the ability to be contacted turned off NOR you could leave any "Greeting/Comment" on her Meetup profile. What's the point of going to a Meetup and putting, "I'm wanting to meet new people/friends" if you're going to turn off that ability? LOL She had mentioned that she doesn't get out of the house much, so I take it she's not entirely a social person in real life.
irc333 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Right, even sex, when you apply yourself, can be free and fun! That's entertainment there! LOL Why spend all that money on food/movies when you can just entertain yourselves int he bedroom? lol i think this is really true....but i often take no money with me when i go out....i make my own fun...smilin...beach is free, parks are free picnics are what you have at home and portable........feeding the ducks are free...maccas has ice cream for fifty cents how cool is that....lol...big kid....grinnin.botanical gardens are free with huge trees to get lost under and watch the world go by fro a while.......the lights in the city are free if you go there at night just to see the lights in the sky........a walk is free around the place you love to see.... i think people dotn want to appear cheap so they avoid going where they could go for free...just to splash the cash and show how well they are doing or when you spend money you are either filling your face with food, dancing too really loud music,or ina crowd of peopel where conversations stick mainly aroudn the weather and miley cyruses twerking..... or watching a movie wqhere you sit eating popcorn and trying not to rattle the box...none of these things involve actual conversation thats lasts past five minutes.. doesnt have to be that way .....so many cool things are free...and fun!!!!!..... sometimes the cheapest dates are the most memorable the ones you think hey i was flat broke but it was the best date we talked up a storm, we walked in the rain, we got attacked by ninja ducks on a mission.......we had fun and the kiss after....wow......lets go back there......just to visit ..that is the date ......that you remember..................smilin atcha.......deb
