tiki
!!! Okay you guys I need help. Last Friday I did a search for a song and went to this lyric website. My computer at work was immediately overtaken with some small, curable trojan horse viruses and many, many pop-up ads. I've ran spybot s&d, ad-aware and even have a Google pop-up blocker. So I'm sitting here at work and just a second ago, I get this pop-up porn ad. NOOOOOO!!!!! Then I just got another one that said something about "fisting". There are nekked people on my screen and their cooches are blurred out. What if I'm sitting here with a patient?! I'd be so embarassed. Somebody help me! MAKE IT STOP!!! savethedrama4allama
Oh my god Tiki welcome to my worst nightmare. Do you have IT support at work? Can you just suck it up and beg them for mercy? I'm sure they get it quite often. If you've ran all those programs (and also looked in your programs and delete anything you don't recognize) then I'm not sure what else you can do. I remember Monday saying she had the same problem and the repair guy couldn't even fix it.
meanon
I changed the security settings on a friend's computer recently and the effect was instant. Porn, porn, porn! I'm useless at anything to do with computers so I hesitate to give advice but we cured it by re-setting the security levels through the menu at the top of the page (Intenet options, security). Worth a try.
imjustagirl
Tiki, I sent you a PM on how I get rid of our clients popups here.... ~justa~
Naive
I'm going to PM you something that worked for me. I use to get a lot of those pop ups and they will lead to otther and so on until my friend told me about this free anti-virus thing. It worked like a charm!!!
Moose
Never, EVER, download ANYTHING from the internet unless you have Mcafee scan it first. Oh.....and never visit any porn sites.......jj Tiki!
Author tiki
Haha Moose. I didn't download a thing. And none of that porn surfing going on here! All of my pop-ups are fisting porn. I'll be starting a new thread in a few weeks, 'addicted to fisting porn'...you watch. Imjusta sent me some help, but some of the crap just will not delete. We are a small office, so I'm the computer gal.
imjustagirl
If I lived closer to the Ice Cream City, I'd come over and charge you an office visit What all is not deleting?
Author tiki
The things that won't delete seem to be in zip file or .exe format. I used that bazooka, it's really fast and I like it! I think it's finally clear now, but a lot of this crap won't let me delete it. I had to search my computer for the embedded files, they were in my add/remove programs. I hope it doesn't come back up, I'll justr crawl under a rock and die!!!
imjustagirl
They shouldn't.....if they do, we'll just have to figure out something else. Good Luck! Let me know if you need anymore assistance...btw...i love that bazooka.....
Naive
What in the world is basooka???
Sukotto
Should use Firefox and you'd never have to worry about some IE exploit taking over your computer. http://www.getfirefox.com
JackieQ
Friend of mine swears by this site http://forums.thetechguys.com/ says the guys there give extremely detailed instructions on dealing with issues like this. I've not had to use their help (knock on wood)...but, since its just a website away, might be worth checking out.
dyermaker
Bazooka rocks. The reason you can't delete some stuff is because it's still running. Boot windows in safe mode, that should do the trick.
Naive
Once again...........WHAT IN THE WORLD IS BASOOKA????
dyermaker
I hope I do not get in trouble for linking to this, because it's noncommercial freeware. http://www.spychecker.com/program/bazooka.html
ziggue
When I first told my boyfriend about Loveshack. (He was at Tafe which is kind of like Night School). I forgot what the address was because I have it added onto Favourites Catagory on my Internet at home. I knew it was Loveshack something. Automatically thought it was Loveshack.Com. Told him that. When he put it on the Computer a Porn Site came up. He was kind of embarresed because he was in a Public Place. . Tafe. Wonder what would've happened if a Teacher walked pass and saw what he was looking at without meaning too. . Lol. I described what kind of site this was so he knew that he was looking at the wrong thing. . When I got home had a look at the address in my Favourites Catagory under Loveshack and relised it was Loveshack.Org. Oops. . . Lol. Will remember the Org from now on that's for sure. Now he knows what the address is. The correct one, and has a look on here every now and then. Bazooka is another slang word for Boobs. I am guessing.
