Have you ever friend-zoned somebody initially after a few dates (thereby hurting the person) and then changed your mind and tried to win that person over? How did that turn out? Share your stories!

I didn't friendzone some I dated, but someone who I was friends with for years told me he had a crush on me, and seeing as he was already in the friendzone, I told him it would be weird as I saw him like a brother. 10 years later my feelings for him grew, I became very attracted to him, and for about a year I tried to stifle these feelings because I KNEW it was stupid to feel this way 10 years after he'd come to me about it.

 

 

Well I was a dipsh*t as I'm prone to being, told him my feelings, and he at first was stunned, amazed, delighted...

 

 

But soon things went south. He was already in a relationship (one that he claimed to be miserable in), and chose to stay with her and try to work things out.

 

 

Our friendship was ruined and we both miserably parted ways. All because my stupid mouth couldn't stay shut.

 

 

He contacted me about a week ago saying that passing up the opportunity with me is the biggest regret of his life, and that he's more miserable than ever with his girlfriend. He moved in with her about 2 months after we stopped talking. He's currently trying to move back out.

 

 

I wasn't very receptive when he contacted me. What am I supposed to say "oh hey thanks for reminding me of the pain of simultaneously losing my best friend and someone I envisioned a future with. thanks for letting me know you are unhappy with your choice. cool."

 

 

There was nothing I could say. I was stupid to create the whole situation

Not friendzoned but I did dump a girl once then tried hard to get her back later. Didn't work that well. :mad: Good for her.
