He's recently come out of prison and he's a complete different bloke. My family hates him and all I want is to be with him. Hes done his fair share of being a horrible person but people can change right? My mum has guardianship of my son, does this mean she can take him away from me if I go back to my ex?

How do you know he's a completely different person if he just recently got out of jail? Time will prove if he's changed or not. People who mess up like that NEVER change over night. They need to earn trust again and show others that they truly are doing their best. Does your ex seem remorseful? How serious of a crime did he commit to end up in prison? And how long was he there? Has he seen a therapist? is he working on himself to be a better man? Is he capable of living a truthful and simple life? Someone who can be supportive and loving, reliable? For your sons safety, your mom should still have custody. This child should be the MOST important thing, not your ex, whom recently got out of prison and hasn't proved himself trustworthy to anybody.
