Love only goes so far. I would rather be lonely and sitting in a top of the line Mercedes than tooling around with a dirt-poor, good-looking, madly-in-love-with-me guy and wondering how in h*ll I'm gonna pay my bills. I'm married, BTW, but still......I don't believe in that nonsense of there being only one soulmate for every person. There is always another person that is compatible with you, you just have to find them. To give up the money I worked hard for, to risk having to live hand to mouth in exchange for possible everlasting love? Not! goodnbad
JS17 Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I can't think of a circumstance in which I would have to give up everything I own for a true love but I would. I'd give it all up for someone who was everything I ever hoped for and loved me unconditionally. Then again I'm an idealist (which I get reamed for here often) and I used to be a romantic, maybe that part of me will come back again one day. Material things don't mean much but I do live a comfortable life, maybe my tune would change if I didn't.

God I thought I'd surfed into some hell hole there where people simply brag about their property and assest values and can't wait to tell everyone their salary... I don't wanna f*cking know!! Some friends of ours are like this and can't wait to brag about how much they spend on this that and the other... how much they earn. It's just rude, and ugly!!
Woggle Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Quite honestly I could care less about material items if I can't enjoy it. I have no need for status symbols or trying to impress others. I have fun with my money and I eat nice meals. I also travel quite a bit. I have the month off because some volunteer work I was supposed to do was canceled so I am going somewhere.

When you were young you were real poor and thought a million bucks was a humungous deal. And expect everyone else to, too.
