If a guy that I was JUST starting to see asks me that I'd think it's a desperate move to get compliments - and that he is most likely insecure.

 

If you want to talk to a girl that likes you - treat her like a real person and take interest in things she's into, things she likes, get to know her (where she's from, siblings, growing up, what she does for fun, what she likes), etc.
