idontknow98 Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Me and my girlfriend just said "I love you" for the first time and she said she didn't want me to say it any more than once a day. Why? What's the point in saying it if I can't say it when I want to?
AMusing Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 My guess is that she wants to keep those words special; saying it endlessly tends to dull its intensity. I suppose another option is she isn't totally comfortable saying it to you yet, and wants to minimize the amount of times she has to say it. Regardless, her dictating how often you can say it is controlling and would spoil the moment in my eyes. I'm going to assume you are pretty young; it would explain why she feels she should control you to that extent. How did you respond? Anyway, you have to ask her why she only wants to say it once daily. Anything we write here will be purely speculative.
veggirl Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I think it's odd to put such a firm rule on it, however the reasoning behind it is just that she wants the words to remain special, she doesn't want them to be as automatic as "bye" or whatever. She wants you to say it when you really feel it not just because it's habit to say it at X time. (I'm guessing, anyway). Why didn't you just ask her?
