Facial Scar Any way to reduce it??!!!!

Im a 18 year old guy with a facial scar. Now this is simply the worse place to have one. This has simple affected my self-confidence to the point that i can't even look into people's faces anymore.

I got it when i was 10, and lately it has really gotten to me.

Now i just want to find out if theres any way i can reduce them without having to do expensive surgery that might make it worse.

Can anyone tell me what to do!!!

Depending on the severity of it you have some options:

1. try Mederma, it takes a while to work, but it does...

2. plastic surgery

3. special make-up (prob. not the best option for a guy though)

I've had over 40 stitches in my face (don't ask) & the time to work on the scars is when the stitches come out (& luckily for me my eye-brow eventually grew back  ). So I don't think there's much you can do about an 8 year old scar except plastic surgery or make-up (which have both been mentioned), but there could be something new out there. Ask your doctor about it.

From what I understand, there are some new laser therapies that are now out there for scaring. I think their initial uses were for acne scaring, but I think that they have been employed effectively on larger areas. i would talk to a dermatologist specializing in laser therapies. Good Luck.

yes definitley try mederma and make sure you are consistent with usage and don't expect results overnight...it will work though!

There's OTC treatment, a little expensive, but I'm sure it's well worth it!
