So I unfortunately got into an accident and have broken a part of my leg. I have to wear this annoying ugly black boot on my leg from my knee down. I have been trying to dress cute and look good even with this black brick on my leg. I also have to limp or use crutches with it on. I am so self conscious that guys won't be interested in me with it on or I will look stupid. I also want to be able to go out again. As a 21 year old I want to still go out to bars with my friends instead of sitting inside on a Friday night. I am trying to not treat this injury as a prison sentence. Is it stupid to go to a bar with a brace/boot?? Will guys think its stupid or I look stupid?? What do you think? Advice?

Aww I'm sorry to hear that. Get well soon.

I personally wouldn't mind. If you have a positive view on it and are humorous about it, it could really do a lot more for you than you think. It's an in that no one else has. You immediately stand out.

If a guy comes up to you and asks how it happened, make up a silly answer. He'll admire your guts and your ability to poke fun at yourself. Well, I certainly would feel that way. :)

MrCastle makes a good point. It's a unique in. You've got the mother of all interesting details.

< -- Man. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest. If anything make you more interesting.

As long as the cast doesn't go all the way up your leg I wouldn't care.

If it doesn't look like a cast, a guy might think this is a permanent condition so be sure you say something like, "Only three more weeks and then I get this Frankenboot off. I can't wait to go dancing again!" Then he has an opening to ask you to go dancing in three weeks. Or if you like jogging, cycling, swimming, etc., say something about that.

You would be surprised how attractive a woman with some vulnerability can be.

Is it stupid to go to a bar with a brace/boot??

It would feel like you should use the time to recuperate instead of bar hop.

Sorry to hear that and I hope you feel better.

But I would focus on school and recovering.

Not partying and going to bars.

Like I am trying to re-coop and help myself and just relax. I'm just so sad. I was on a diet and doing so well and losing weight and exercising and I was so happy. Now all I do is sit around and eat and can't work out. I feel bad, I feel like if I keep not going out after a while no one will invite me anymore and I'll be sad. I just want to go out and be like all my friends and hang out with them.

I broke my ankle once in a car accident and had to wear a boot. My husband thought it was sexy. The first day I got it he said he couldn't wait til i felt better so that he could do it to me with the boot on . I think it wouldn't be a big deal for most guys.

Oh I would date a little cutie with a cast on no question.

If she were kind of jokingly-grumpy about having to wear it that might be even cuter. I'd be happy to cheer up a bummed out, injured little lady.

Why would anyone think it looks stupid? They'd simply think you hurt your leg and it may serve as a prop for guys to ask you what happened. Make jokes about it like: I'm wearing this boot to get a leg up on bar- "hopping". "The boot needs a drink!" Or ask people to give a punchline to this joke: "A Girl and a boot 'walk' into a bar.." Anything stupid to lighten your mood and make people laugh or come talk to you.
