MrCastle Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I assme these are things that you put up with but annoy you? Because deal breakers would mean something that prevents you from dating the person at all right? I guess girls that curse excessively. Girls that take their phone out at all on a date. When they put the prude shield up and you're not sure what date is appropriate to make a move. When they provide no date ideas and only say yes and no to my date ideas.
soccerrprp Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I guess girls that curse excessively. Girls that take their phone out at all on a date. When they put the prude shield up and you're not sure what date is appropriate to make a move. When they provide no date ideas and only say yes and no to my date ideas. I like all of these. Interestingly enough, I do not curse (ever). When I tell the ladies I date, they stop all together. I love that. To add one of my own: After telling them that you sew, teach a fashion design class and crochet, they ask you if you're gay. Actually, the peevish part is when they continue to question your sexuality after you've already had sex, show them your children, and you've repeatedly demonstrated and expressed that you are straight. Sheesh. 1
Keenly Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Let's see. Phone out on a date Squeezing my knuckles when holding my hand ( back off the knucks ) The whole " I want to do something but I don't give any suggestions or ideas " When I ask something and get nothing ( example : what dO you want for dinner. response : I don't know , whatever you want ) adults should be able to form their own opinions. Double standards and hypocrisies. Not allowing adequate time to respond to texts before freaking out. Attention whorey behavior.
miss_jaclynrae Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Having your phone out, or watching the television when out to dinner at a place that has them. Twiddling. [don't look bored *******] Talking about prices of things on the menu. Chewing with your mouth open. Disgusting eating habits in general. Talking too loud or too quiet. Trying to impress me too hard is annoying too, and I can always tell.
heartshaped Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Tardiness I find is my biggest thing. If I am able to bathe, wash my hair, change clothes and/or shoes ten times, apply makeup, put on perfume, and walk back into my house for the purse I forgot and still be on time I expect you to be there at the set time or at least, be no more than five minutes late and have the decency to text or call.
2sure Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I have only one big one and it's been the same all of my life: A man asking to use my Bathroom when he is dropping me home and I have not invited him in. Just No.
acrosstheuniverse Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I have only one big one and it's been the same all of my life: A man asking to use my Bathroom when he is dropping me home and I have not invited him in. Just No. Ha yes, this! It's so sneaky. If you want to come in and I haven't invited you, at least ask. Don't put me in a position where I look like an ass for refusing, so can't refuse. Mostly annoys me as I only have an en suite so it means having the guy in my room alone etc. Mine is not letting me buy us anything. If you've paid for a meal, or the cinema tickets, at least let me buy the snacks or a round of drinks. I'm a big girl, earn my own cash and don't expect to be given a free ride. I like to treat the guy I'm out with too, as well as be treated! 1

MercuryMorrison1 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I can't stand when women are overly competitive with me just because I am a man and they feel like they have something to prove. I'm all for independent women who are strong and capable. But stop trying to make everything a competition, as much less get angry with me when I do choose to compete and then win! If you can't tell by now, I've dated a few that had this mentality.
string of letters Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I can't stand when women are overly competitive with me just because I am a man and they feel like they have something to prove. I had a first date like this just a couple of days ago. The lady has a high powered corporate job and would angrily cut me off in mid-sentence to demonstrate her superior knowledge of this or that subject, often without really even hearing what I had to say (these were topics where nothing was at stake, e.g. the structure of a language we had both studied). Creepy - especially since she was verifiably wrong on the points she went bonkers about. For all I know, she'll be puzzled why I never call her again. For me, conversation asymmetry during the first few dates is really annoying. E.g. for every 4 questions I ask about her, she asks me 1 about myself. It's too tiring to try to interpret whether this shows a lack of interest, a lack of social skills, a lack of curiosity, a weak sense of reciprocity, and/or a traditional belief that the date should basically revolve around the woman (btw, how do you reconcile this with the point that women are supposedly more selective than men? Wouldn't getting answers to questions be a fairly important part of the selection process? They sure are for me!). Several people have tried to assure me that 'lack of questions' definitely does not necessarily equal 'lack of interest', but it really bugs me.
candie13 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Well, in the light of my very recent love life experience, i'll say absolutely nothing is more terrible that a self centered man, who asks no questions about me, about what I think of certain topics and who is absolutely not interested in knowing me. A guy who's interested in getting to know me will manifest the very same interest in making me happy. And I mean, being well traveled, well cultured, with a fantastic personality represent NO excuse. IT was a huge lesson for me, hopefully all those reading my post see this huge red flag and run for the hills.
