I'm not stalking or anything (ok maybe I am a little bit :p) but when a man gives me his phone number after like 2 messages on POF and then says he's not looking for a commitment blah blah blah.....I get curious.

So I do a little search on Facebook and low and behold.....

IN A RELATIONSHIP.

Pfft.

Complete idiot.

In his defense he's not looking for commitment because he's already in a committed relationship. At least he's honest.

Confused. You type their number into Facebook? I don't have my number on there.

On my iPhone, I can find friends by looking up my contacts on my phone. Been guilty of it myself.

My FB says I'm living in an entirely different state, and it certainly doesn't know my phone #.

I think a lot of men and women don't realize how easy it is to do a background check on someone.

I used google voice when I did OLD. Forwarded that number to my cell and used it as a phone number proxy. You can block crazies that way. Most cell plans only allow you to block a certain amount of numbers.

Stalker.

That's how my crazy ex found my address a few years ago and barged into my home unannounced.

That's a little stalker-ish.

With that said, you should be a little helpful and tell the guy his mistake. Better yet, tell him to get a GOOGLE VOICE number instead, and trade that to women he is trying to meet online.

ALways be a good Samaritan :).

I considered telling him, I also considered messaging his girlfriend. I did neither. I don't care enough. I just blocked him.

A smidgen of stalking to protect myself is all I care to do.

Why didn't you change the locks when she left?

She didn't have a key to begin with. She showed up out of the blue, I hadn't seen her or talked to her in at least 2 or 3 years. When I opened the door she just walked right in.

My facebook is private, so only friends can see my details. And I dont add people I barely know, nor do I add coworkers.

Also, my cell phone number is prepaid, so its not attached to my name in any public registry, nor does it come up in caller ID. Ive had the same number for a while, but dont want all my personal info on it. People who know me personally only get my number from me.

Same for my home phone, which is VOIP through Google Voice. Only the number comes up when I call someone. My name isnt traceable to it either.

So take that OP :p

I never understood why dummies put their phone numbers on their facebook. I dont make all my personal info public like that.
