HoneyBadgerDontCare Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 OLD is the easiest thing on the planet for women. Just create a profile and select "female". Then you will have tons of responses from good-looking, nice men that want to date you seriously. I don't understand what's so difficult about this.

Unless by "good-looking, nice men that want to date you seriously." you actually mean married men, men looking to pump it and dump it before moving onto the next, scammers, catfish and men that use faked or really old pictures of themselves.. Not denying that there's good looking and compatible men on dating sites who are serious, but they're like trying to find a diamond in the rough. Edited September 15, 2013 by Energy 3
FitChick Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I understand your not wanting to post full body shots because of attracting unwanted attention. Not saying to show any skin. I don't. Just ignore the creeps who contact you? Your wanting a man to contact you based on intelligence, personality and interests is akin to buying a car you've never seen, being told it runs great. I wouldn't make a special trip to take a test drive without seeing a pic first. You have to realize that men (who will back me up here) have had too many embarrassing encounters with women who only posted head shots, only to have them show up with jelly bellies, fat arses and thunder thighs. Conventional wisdom states that men or women who only post head shots, especially those shot from above, are fat. Keep that in mind when you don't get the sort of men you want.

Look at the example from my original post though - She posted NO PICTURES AT ALL and had a reasonable guy contact her. After chatting a bit she sent a headshot and that was it. A guy who would pass me up if I was 40 pounds heavier isn't a man I want to date anyway. Men who are overly concerned about the body aren't what I want, so if they pass me up because I don't post a body shot, that's best for me anyway.
Author Phoe Posted September 15, 2013 Author Posted September 15, 2013 Phoe, Please stay away from POF.com and go to other websites. I have been on this site for awhile you seem like such a lovely human being inside. None of the men on POF.com deserve you quite frankly. POF.com is full of really superficial, skeezy men looking for casual relations but saying theyre not. Please stay away. I like you!!!! aww thank you. I don't quite know where to go really. I have heard nothing either way about any other sites, but have known people who got married off POF so I always kinda assumed I'd start there, but also hear terrible things about POF here.

Eh, isn't it rather obvious from Phoe's profile pic that she isn't secretly the size of a house, though? When someone tries to hide their body with a "myspace angle" or close-up shot, it's pretty easy to tell if they're fat or obese by looking at their face/neck or, in the case of women, cleavage. I really don't understand how men/women get fooled by that old trick on online dating. Not disagreeing that she should use a full body shot on principle, btw, but just saying. emva07 Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 so let me tell you how my first OLD encounter went.... We decided on a place....I metro-ed there (messaged him saying i'd be there in an hour) meaning that he should be there in an hour as well or let me know he'd be late right? So an hour goes by and I arrive, I message him "i'm here" nothing....half an hour goes by so i say "i'm taking the next metro home in 15 mins" nothing. So 45 mins later i get on the train (his train ride was only 10 mins!)....I'm almost home an hour later and I get a "hey, are you still there? I just got here" I suggest, well we can meet halfway, he says "nah, it's late. lets just hang out another time so i get more time with you" so i say "oh....there won't be another time" he says "what do you mean" I say "I'm not taking the metro for over an hour, wait for almost an hour just to get stood up again" he says "i didn't stand you up" which I just ignored. The End.
SincereOnlineGuy Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 emva07: I appreciate your sentiments, but thankfully that tale doesn't make the OLD highlight reel! (I am in agreement with your responses)
FitChick Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Eh, isn't it rather obvious from Phoe's profile pic that she isn't secretly the size of a house, though? No, it isn't. I had a friend who had a beauty queen face, smooth jawline, slim neck and shoulders, smallish bust, but below that she looked like Little Miss Muffett sitting on a tuffett only she was the tuffett! I was just talking to a friend who met a woman who had photos from six years ago showing her as very slim. When he met her she was size 16. He said he was glad it was raining because when they walked down the street he could hide his face behind an umbrella in case he ran into anyone!
