A girl and I dated for 4 months but she left me about 2 months ago. I'm 30, she is 24 & we work together still. We hadn't talked in 2 months but she texted me and said she wanted to catch up. So we talked about life and ended up talking about us a little. Her birthday was over the weekend so I asked to take her out for dinner and she accepted. It went well and see talked about us a little more. I told her I wanted to try again and asked her for a kiss but she said she wants to take things slow and see what happens.

She broke up with me mainly because it was hard for her to date and work together. I don't plan on working there much longer and promised things would be different, basically just between us. I'd like to try but I don't know if she is in board. Any suggestions on work relationships or anything really? Can it work again if things are different?

Are you two working together? If that is the issue and it sill bothers her, it's not going to end any different. I wouldn't press this until you've found, or are on the verge of finding, other employment.

Yes we still do as of now. I just think things can be different. But you might be right, bound to fail for the same reasons.

Working together isn't necessarily a reason things can't work out. I was in a very good and happy relationship with a co-worker for 6 years. Ironically we broke up after we stopped working together although I don't think that was the main reason. Good luck. If you both want it then working together shouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker....although you need to be careful as there are obviously fairly high risks involved if things do go wrong!

Yeah I agree. We both want to want to make it work regardless of anything else.
