Accepting an award for your affair...

Lets say you had to accept an award for being in your affair, who/what would you thank?

 

A friend said it may be theraputic, as it helped her identify the causes of a situation she was dealing with...

 

I would thank myself for being such a naive twit. Thank my MM for the supply of crumbs. My xH for sucking in our M. Possibly my mother for being so emotionally unavailable.

I heard about that same excercise months ago and thought about what "award" I would give myself, and who I would thank in my acceptance speech for the award. Mine wasnt an award for an A, it was an award for my choice of relationship but the idea is the same... It was an uncomfortable exercise.

 

Here is another one... Go get some pictures of yourself from when you were little. One baby picture, one when you were a child, and one when you were a teenager. Put them on the fridge. Leave them there so you see them every day while you compose in your head two letters you will eventually write. Take as much time as you need.

 

The first one an apology to your younger self, for anything you think you might need to apologize for,

 

The second one telling your younger self about how wonderfully you are going to be taking care of her from now on. Explain how you would never do anything to hurt her and how you are now going to be making choices that she can be proud of.

 

It's just an idea....I hope you don't mind me butting in on your thread. It took me several months to actually go through with this, it was very hard.

Haha i would thank all the players, myself for living a double life in some cases a triple life and the girls because you can have fun without the girls!
