Since i am (as usual) single a big fat nothing! However, i will be investing in some self gifting!

But your thread did remind me of Christmas a couple of years ago when i did have a boyfriend and he bought me an awful present - a footspa.

I'd spent ages plotting what to get him and his mother bought him complimentary presents and he was delighted with it, as i knew he would be. Me, i am a glamour puss and like indulgent, sexy, frivoulous luxuries so imagine my shock, horror and sheer disappointment when i discover he got me a footspa. A day at a spa, a pedicure at the salon - absolutely, but a FOOTSPA is something you buy for your mother or grandmother, not your sexy l'il 20 something hottie!!! I just knew that no thought whatsoever had gone into it and was so upset i cried.

"But you always complain how your feet hurt!" he said. I NEVER complain that my feet hurt - i'm a dancer for crying out loud, i've got feet tougher than a marine!

So i'm interested to know what the worst presents you've ever given/received are too?!

Just as an FYI: Consumer Reports has issued their holiday buying guide which lists best gifts for specific category (i.e., $0-$100, $100-$250). May be of some interest to those looking for a good gift.

Sorry that you're alone this holiday but everything happens for a reason, so maybe the right one will come along at the beginning of the year to start things off fresh. I'm 20, and my gf is 21 and her feet hurt a lot too after work, so what I do is massage her feet myself w/my hands to make them feel better. No need for a foot spa, but I agree w/you about the day at a spa.. girls love to be pampered at times and a day at a spa is a good idea for a gift.

I'm totally stuck on what to get my bf for Christmas.

Three months ago I dumped the guy I was seeing when I first joined this site, and about six weeks ago I met someone else. We got on so well, that things became pretty intense very quickly. He is lovely - a real romantic - and is always buying me small gifts anyway. He has pretty much everything he needs, and I haven't got a lot of money this year. (car needed a new engine - don't ask, but the bill is going to be enormous) He's already told me he's got my Christmas present, and I told him I hoped he hadn't gone mad and spent a lot of money - to which he said no.

I've asked him what he would like, and of course, I get the answer "You, wrapped in a bow." However, that's not very helpful, as I really do feel I need to get him some sort of token at least!

Any ideas?
