I met this chick at a social college event thing. We talked for awhile. She was clearly into me at the time and even my friend who I was with saw so. She even asked me for my number. I texted her next day, talked for alittle. Sat. I asked her out to lunch/early dinner on campus for Mon. First I asked her for her schedule and she said so and so and she has after 4 free. After asking her, she said, "i think that woks, i'll let you know". I just replied with no problem. It's now Sunday night and have heard nothing. It's weird how interested she seemed in person yet now im not sure through texts. Do I even text her tomorrow or just forget about it unless she texts me? It's funny because this event is something I think she goes to every week and i'll be there again.

I would just say something like hey, if you are still free would you like to meet at x place at y time tonight? If she says she's busy then she's prob not interested, but it's less awkward for the next time you run into her than if you pretend it never happened.

Yeah, I agree. Casually bring it up in a text. "Hey, how have you been? Are we still up for.....? Let me know."

Also don't call her chick.

Still nothing from her.

I'm not sure i even want to take someone out who plays these games. I hate the " ill let you know".. what does that even mean? You said you were free then. At least shoot me a text if you're not interested with some excuses. So just text get now saying like hey are we still good for 5 tonight?

I hear you. She wants to keep her options open and be in control of the situation. Very annoying. I would flip it on her. Text her this: "Hey, you still want to meet up tonight? Jane from so and so asked me to go, so I wanted to make sure we're still on before I commit to her."

See how she reacts. Let her know you got options.

Everyone is different and so you will get people who tell you to pursue and text her but in my personal opinion I never chase, especially not when I replied last and left it with her. Your reply of "No problem" was a really bad reply. There was no need for you to reply or reply with that and you could have waited now with the ball in your court and followed up with a confirmation message. Never be the last one to text, it gives you all the hand in the situation, and certainly do not reply with a message like that as it makes you sound completely not bothered at all about the situation.

For example you think a girl fancies you and wants to date you and so you are expecting to be pursued. Compare the message from "no problem" to " I look forward to it :) " Leave someone you like with that message and when they do not hear from you that will stay in their head. No problem will not.

If she likes you she will contact you otherwise go about your business and look cool by not chasing, pursuing or showing interest. If she bumps into you enjoying yourself without showing her attention she will show interest again. Stop thinking so much into this. Keep it simple.

"No problem" was a suboptimal way to respond. In fact, do not respond at all to a "I'll let you know" text because that basically means that "I'll let you know if someone hotter than you asks me out".

Leave it at that and if you don't hear back until the nite before, shoot her a "So, are we still on at TIME?"

If she gets back to you - great. If not, or if she declines - next.

Well, I skimmed the thread and put in my 2c.

I sincerely apologize for not reading your entire insightful post before commenting here and I will be sure to do so from now on to avoid actually agreeing with you (god forbid).

Funny that you automatically knew what I was referring to?.... I could have just lost my parrot. :D

How so? Because I re-read it? It's really mysterious how that could ever happen... ;)
